Interlaken is known for its many adventure activities. Situated between Lakes Thun and Brienz, it is also the gateway to some of Switzerland’s most famous mountains! But Interlaken also has a lot to offer culturally: Classical, rock and country festivals take place in Interlaken every year… The music festival in Interlaken begins with a classical performance at the beginning of April and reaches its climax in June with the nationally renowned Greenfield rock festival.

2. GREENFIELD FESTIVAL
Switzerland’s biggest rock festival has been held at the old Wilderswil military airfield every year since 2015. This year, over 40 international rock and punk bands will perform on stage. Slipknot, Die Ärzte, Donots and Papa Roach are the headliners in 2023! Metal and rock fans from Switzerland and Europe meet here every year to party in front of the stage amidst the alpine scenery. But usually it’s not over long after the concert ends: many people party in the party tents until the early hours of the morning…
Fun Fact – In 2022, the Greenfield Festival reached the most visitors of all time: 84,000 people!

3RD TRUCKER & COUNTRYFESTIVAL INTERLAKEN
The Trucker & Country Festival took place for the first time on July 1, 1994. Since then, the Trucker Festival in Interlaken has grown considerably and many people make a note of the date in their diaries well in advance. Over the years, there have been over 1 million visitors, 25,184 trucks, over 62,000 motorcycles and 334 different bands. Interlaken will once again be haunted by country music and trucker sounds this year. With around 30 live acts, plus real cowboy shows, CanCan girls and lots of line dancing – there really is a lot going on here.
Don’t be surprised if you are in Interlaken on the start or final day of the festival: the honking of the truckers’ horns will be unmistakable
