The weather is very important for paragliding. It not only determines whether a flight can take place, but also how enjoyable and safe the experience will be.

Before each takeoff, the pilots carefully check the wind direction, wind speed, thermals, visibility, and possible weather changes. They fly only when conditions are safe. In the event of strong winds, heavy rain, or thunderstorms, the flight is postponed or canceled.

This can sometimes be disappointing for passengers, but it is an important part of professional flight operations. Safety always takes precedence over the flight schedule.

Yes, paragliding is also possible in the winter. Many guests are surprised to learn that tandem flights aren’t limited to the summer. The air is often very clear in the winter, and the snow-covered mountains offer a particularly beautiful panorama.

The process is pretty much the same as for a flight in the summer. The important thing is simply to dress warmly. We recommend warm clothing, gloves, and sturdy shoes. If needed, we can also provide items such as ski pants, winter boots, gloves, or windbreakers.

As with every season, the same rule applies in winter: Flights are operated only when weather conditions are safe.

Paragliding is generally possible year-round in Switzerland. There isn’t just one perfect season, because every season has its own charm.

In the spring, the peaks are often still covered in snow, while the valley slowly awakens from winter. In summer, it’s pleasantly warm, the meadows are green, and the view seems especially vibrant. Fall brings golden hues, the sun setting lower in the sky, and sometimes wisps of clouds that lend the valley an almost mystical atmosphere. In winter, the region is often blanketed in white snow, making the flight particularly impressive.

So, the best time of year depends on what you want to experience. Paragliding Interlaken is impressive in the summer, but just as special in the winter.
